Head Chef

Permanent - £20,00-23,000

The University of Salford Students Union are recruiting for an experienced and energetic Head Chef to help develop and drive their on campus site - Atmosphere Kitchen and Bar, which as well as a bar also consists of a café and function rooms.

We want someone who can help develop and grow the food side of the business at Atmosphere alongside the management team

The successful applicant must:

  • Hold at least a level 2 in food safety
  • Be experienced in developing menus/ specials
  • Have experienced in training and developing a strong team
  • Be cool and calm under pressure
  • Think outside the box to deliver a fantastic offering to our students
  • Manage stock and achieve GP%

Oh - you also get Christmas off and bank holidays off, but don’t let that sway you…..

Part Time Vacancies

Union Council Facilitator

Fixed term: 16/17 academic year- (£200 for 3x Union Council meetings+training)

We are looking for a  salford student who is able to act as the chair and impartially facilitate our Union Council meetings. 

Union Council is the ultimate democratic body of the students' union, it sets Union Policy and holds elected officers to account. As the facilitator/chair you will be responsible for ensuring fair and balanced discussion during the Council Meetings, enabling all members to participate. You will asist Union staff with the administration of Council and, where appropriate, liaisie with the Trustee Board. 

To ensure the impartiality of this role you should not be a current elected officer or representative. You must be satisfied that any links you have with elected officers and representatives would enable you to fulfil this role appropraitely.

Would you like to be part of an organisation striving to the outstanding organisation in the UK for delivering a positive student experience? The University of the Salford Students’ Union represents and provides services for a diverse body of over 18,500 students. We support students beyond their degree helping them to enjoy their time at University and build their skills and experience. We provide services such as representation, campaigning, activities, sport, events and advice as well as a food and bar outlet.

We are looking for people to join our Trustee Board and support our elected officers, student trustees and senior managers to steer the work of the Union. This is a voluntary role and we want people who are dynamic, committed and driven to help us to succeed. If you have a background in finance, law, business management, HR, social enterprise and the charity sector then we would love to hear from you.
